As we have moved into the most technology dependent age of all time, so many different careers have emerged that it is even hard to count. A person already going through the hardships of intermediate studies would feel that it is almost impossible to find the required time to explore and research different careers he or she is interested in. Here are pictures of few people who are completely confused regarding their careers. One person is so confused that she’s screaming for help and even posted her contact details on the internet.

After thinking about this problem for a while, some ideas started popping up in my head. I wondered what if we can develop a software that can solve this problem to some extent, or at least help in making people informed decisions about their career? As I am a computer science graduate, some tech related ideas came up. I thought of a software application that can ease up the process of making career decisions for people. So I decided to develop a software called “Smart Career Counselor” that will assist people in making informed decisions about their professional lives.

No wonder how big the problem is, we can make anything simple with the help of technology these days. To make things simple for students, Smart Career Counselor will not only give students extensive information about different careers but also facilitate them by showing practical work with the help of people who are already working in that particular profession. It will gather all the information from different sources on the web, as well as from the working professionals belonging to different fields. With the access to all the relevant information required to chose a field of study, students will feel a lot more confident while making the decision. It will also be quite valuable for those who want to master a specific technical skill rather than pursuing higher education.

At the end I would like to add that this whole experience of thinking about this problem of career decisions and coming up with an innovative solution of a software product was a great one.
